The biggest hurdle with general-purpose robotics is data scarcity. Unlike language models, which can be trained on the vast amount of text on the internet, there is no equivalent Internet of robot data. Existing methods like simulation and teleoperation are limited by their ability to produce scale, diversity, and edge cases of the real world. This approach doesn't scale.
We are betting on the following truths that define the next era of Physical Superintelligence
- 1.For decades, robots were always pre-programmed to do specific tasks that humans felt required automation. The new era of robotics will not need pre-programming, but one where they can use their own vision and intelligence to navigate any tasks.
- 2.As LLMs enable language reasoning, spatial data will enable physical world reasoning and the relationship between objects.
- 3.In robotics, the hard stuff is computationally easy, but the easy stuff is impossibly hard. These tasks require constant negotiation with friction, entropy, and physics.
- 4.Language, vision, and audio models succeeded because the data already existed on the internet and trillion of tokens were waiting to be ingested. There is no Internet of Robot Data. The library of physical interactions required to train a General Purpose Robot does not exist. We are creating the data flywheel that will help robots bootstrap their "brains" without waiting for decades to collect experiences through methods that don't scale.
- 5.To operate in our world, AI must learn from its masters. Human Data is rich enough to teach robots the nuance of physical manipulation. It is the "ground truth" for intention and causality, providing the universal blueprint for the next generation of humanoids and spatial computing.
Our mission is to usher in the era of Physical Intelligence by capturing the long tail of human dexterity and build the infrastructure that enables a post-scarcity future: a world where physical labor is abundant and human time is liberated for creativity and connection.
FPV Labs is incubating from Lossfunk and is backed by leading operators who share our conviction in the inevitable future of physical intelligence.
We are hiring engineers, researchers, and hardware obsessed people who are aligned with our mission
